True stories from the world of medicine. In 2020, I started working with medical storytelling organization, The Nocturnists. I knew the job would be interesting, but I had no idea how much it would also enrich my personal creative life. As Head of Story Development, I do everything from working one-on-one with healthcare workers to support them in crafting personal narratives for stage, to getting them ready to perform in front of hundreds of people; I teach storytelling workshops specifically geared towards healthcare workers as a form of play, skill-building, and healing; and I lead produce and edit all our narrative podcast series as part of a small creative team.
